Culture-Specific Sync

Filter sync operations by language culture variant to sync one language without affecting others.

The Problem

In multilingual Umbraco sites, content exists in multiple culture variants (e.g., en-US, pt-PT, nl-NL). When syncing content between environments, you often want to push one language without overwriting translations in other languages that may have been updated independently.

How It Works

When performing a content sync, select one or more cultures to include. Only property values for the selected cultures will be compared and transferred. Invariant (culture-neutral) properties are always included because they are shared across all cultures.

Example Workflow

1.

Your English editors update content on staging

2.

Your Portuguese translators update translations on production

3.

You need to push the English updates without overwriting Portuguese

4.

Select only 'en-US' in the culture filter

5.

Push — English content is updated, Portuguese translations remain untouched

Unique to DoubleSync

Culture-specific sync is a feature unique to DoubleSync. Neither uSync nor Umbraco Deploy can filter sync operations by culture variant. With those tools, all languages move together as a unit.

Requirements

Culture-specific sync requires a Pro, Agency, or Perpetual license.
